Rise Vision Display Player on Android Smart TV

I have a presentation all set up and ready for display. Now I am trying to get my presentation to display on my TVs but am having difficulty. Each TV has a Android Smart TV box on it and I have two apps that I think I can choose from to use. I have tried both players and neither have displayed my presentation. Its just a generic rise vision display. Can someone try to walk me through getting a display to work on an android box? Thanks for all your help in advance!

Sorry to hear you are having trouble Dustin.

The contact info for two of our partners who have built Android Players can be found in this forum conversation. It may be worthwhile to reach out them them to see if they can assist you with their Android Players.

I hope that helps!

Hey robb this might be an issue with them setting the display and schedule correctly. He said he was getting the default rise display and usually thats an issue with scheduling not pointing to a certain display.

Sorry Dustin, as William points out, I may have misinterpreted your request.

In order for the Presentation to show on your Display, the Android Player must be running, but also, you must have a Display created in your Company, and that Display assigned to a Schedule.

So the process is:
1. Create a Presentation, Display, and Schedule in your Company.
2. Assign the Presentation to the Schedule, and assign the Display to the Schedule.
3. Set the unique Display ID on the Android Player, and you should be good to go.

Check out the videos on our User Training page for more detail on the above steps.

Please let me know if that doesn't solve your issue!
Really like this response, had the same problem at first. But now I have another problem when I'm trying to show a video on my TV through the Android TV box system. The above process is already done. I've already got pictures to be seen on my displays, but when it gets to videos I get stuck!

Maybe I have the wrong settings on the video? For starters I've got the video converted to WebM format.

Please help me out!

Use MP4 on android. It seems to do better. Also use the android html5 widget in the store because as of now there is an issue with the rise video widget.
Hi William!

I'm using 4.0.4 version of the Android TV Box system and so far I've solved the video problem with your suggestion solution. But now that I view the video it works in slowmotion, it kinda laggs & is in low quality.

I've tried showing in mp4 file, but WebM file format is the only format that has worked for me so far!

How do you suggest me to proceed to fix the problem?

Thanks

We do not support anything thats under 4.2.2 at this time. Video shouldn't even work on that version to begin with since autoplay wasn't allowed until 4.2 or api 17. Odd that it runs in slow motion but as far as support we have nothing under 4.2.2 to test with. If its 4.4 then try using the my rise test player on the play store if available.

That was it! Thank you very much. After getting that to display, I am now running into another issue with my image not displaying on the TV. The image is being displyed through a web site that I put on my imgur account.

Glad to hear it!

The likely culprit is that the image form imgur is not allowed to be displayed in an iFrame, since that is what it is doing when it is being displayed in a Placeholder. I would recommend moving that image to our Storage repository and showing the image from there.

Thanks!
