  • Not a Problem
Recently Rise Vision app (rva.risevision.com) stopped working in my Chrome browser and it used to get stuck with wait timer on home page.

When i switch to Incognito mode, it would work fine.

I just found the root cause of this problem. Basically Chrome has disabled NPAPI support from Chrome Version 42+, which is essentially required for Java plug-in to work.

Here is what you need to do to enable NPAPI support in your Chrome browser (42+).

  1. In your URL bar, enter:
    chrome://flags/#enable-npapi
  2. Click the Enable link for the Enable NPAPI configuration option.
  3. Click the Relaunch button that now appears at the bottom of the configuration page.

After making this change, i am able to access Rise Vision app in Chrome browser.

Hi Sanjay, thank you for passing that on.  I just updated to Chrome 42 and I am not having a problem with our website but we are reviewing the information on NPAPI support.

Any follow ups to the support for NPAPI  leaving?

Maurice, are you having any issues accessing our website per the above?

There currently is not an issue with accessing the website. my lack of familiarity with what is running risevision in the background prompted me to ask the question. the negative impact seemed harmful and you had mentioned it 7 days ago, i was merely looking for any clarification as to any impact.

Mauricio,

Per my understanding we are not using any external libraries that require NPAPI support.
