I removed the rise player app and installed the chrome extension version per rise vision documentation. Since doing this I’m having some trouble with the rise extension loading when the computer reboots. Chrome is loading, just not the rise extension. We have installed the recommended application monitor but it doesn’t always work for the extension (it does work for chrome). Any advice? Windows 8.1.
Also, is there any info on a the new rise player currently in development?
Are you able to get chrome to run on restart? If yes then you must be missing the argument part. If you right click on the rise chrome app player, you can find the same in target option something similar to like this
you should add this also for the risevision chrome app to start.
In addition, do you have a scheduled task set up to reboot nightly?
I believe going back to old RV player might be the solution.
When this happens, can you bring up Task Manager and see how many Chrome instances / Rise Player instances are being shown? And let us know if there are multiple instances of each?
If the application monitor isn't starting the app perhaps the application monitor's settings are incorrect. Could you double check the settings?
I am experiencing the same issue as described in this thread.
I recently had to change to the chrome extension version of the riseplayer, vs the native player. I had to due to the fact that the native player no longer supports windows 7 and in particular was preventing the web widget from functioning.
Since switching yesterday, I had every single display experience the same issue as described by zalmyk.
However I was able to pinpoint it to the automatic restart function that you can set up in each rise display section.
In addition, I have noticed that this happens randomly over the last 24 hours as well. Next time I see it I will try to take a screen shot as well to showcase any problem if there is one.
For now, I have disabled the restart function on every display that has the extension. I will see if this helps.
I don't mind manually rebooting every display since, my team and I monitor every display daily.
I will be adding another post, since I am experiencing other issues other than the reboot one.
There are a lot of details in this thread. Would you mind describing your own issue specifically so that we can be clear and then go from there to make suggestions based on those details?
