Replace Image Gadget with Widget

Rather than keep the old Image Gadget option in the Placeholders can you just change the link so it adds an Image Widget instead. Same goes for the Video Widget/Video Gadget

It's so time consuming when you have to add multiple items and have to 3-4 clicks and scrolling just to add a widget for each one.

Hi Glen,

I'll pass your feedback along, but you may want to check out our new editor application here: https://editor.risevision.com/#/editor/list It's a lot faster overall and faster to add widgets.

Thanks,
Shea

Fancy. When is this going to be the default editor?

Have some initial UI/UX feedback on here as well.

1. Image Widget doesn't show up in the Widgets by default, you have to search it.
2. Do you need such large images in the Content items window? So much scrolling.
3. The playlist could use some height tweaking, again, scrolling. I'm on a 27" iMac and have to scroll through a list that used to be nice and compact.
3a. You have labels on here that don't mean anything. 'Free'. Not useful and just taking up space.
3b. Why remove drag and drop reordering for playlist? It was very useful at times.
4. Playlist should be the default tab since that's more likely going to be edited more often than the placeholder properties.
5. Would have liked to see rulers, nudging and alignment support for placeholders.

Looking forward to seeing where this ends up.

No schedule for making it the default as of this point time. One thing to note is that it only works with Widgets, not Gadgets or Items. Drag and drop was removed because of mobile/touch issues but we are looking to add it back. Just too complex for the initial stages. Thanks for the feedback on the other points.

Gotcha, yeah the whole touch thing can be a beast at times for sure, but a requirement these days for sure.

Glencoe Glen,
I usually just copy and paste image widget within placeholder and change URL, date, length, etc.  Very fast and easy if you keep open storage app in separate window.

I would just prefer to see simple UX/UI than have to use workarounds. It's possible, why make users take the extra steps/figure it out themselves.
