Do we have any tool to remotely monitor what's happening on a specific display?

Hi Sanjay,

There is no Rise tool for this, but there are a lot of third party remote access tools out there you could try, a few are free.

Thanks Alex. Any recommendation for kiosk-based Chrome player running on Chromebox?

Hi Sanjay, sorry, I didn't know you were using a Chromebox.  Unfortunately there is no remote access for those.

Sanjay,

There is actually remote desktop support for Chromebox. Look for "Chrome Remote Desktop" in the chrome extension store.

I thought that can't be used for kiosk mode apps.

And it also requires pairing code and user inputs at both ends to monitor the target machine, which may not work in case of remote TV.

Sanjay,

That is a good point, it cannot be used with kiosk apps.

A recent update to Chrome device manager allows you to remotely monitor the connected screen even in kiosk mode so this issue is resolved.

Have you used this yet? If so, what's your experience been?

Yes, it is fairly straight forward to use and you can also take screenshot if required.

I'm familiar with the screenshot functionality which has existed for a while. Is there some other functionality you're using? Remote Desktop of some kind?

I think we are referring to the same Chrome Management functionality.
