Recurrence by minute interval

I'd like to schedule a Presentation to recur by the minute rather than daily, but I don't see how that is possible right now without creating a bunch of copies of the presentation staggered through the day which isn't ideal.

The situation is that I've got our standard presentations - about 10 single slide presentations - that are pretty basic and cycle through all of them in about 2 minutes. Then I've got two 45 second videos we're trying to run from an outside group. So if I put them all in the same schedule, the outside groups content swamps our content so that people passing by are far more likely to see their content than out content.

In my mind, an ideal solution would be to have their content set to run every 15 minutes, but I don't see a good way of accomplishing that without resorting to some really complicated scheduling...

The two possible solutions I've come up with are:

1) combining all of our content into one cycling presentation rather than the many single slides we have now, and then scheduling that a bunch of times and then the video... which should work, but may make it more difficult for users to make their content.

2) Specifically scheduling the videos to run for a single minute every 15 minutes throughout the day. Which would take making like 100 individual presentations and will be a huge pain especially when we need to change them.

Is there another solution that I'm not thinking of?

James,

I hope I am understanding you correctly, but I think this would solve your issue:

  1. Have 3 Presentations: Your Standard Presentation, that is a fullscreen image Widget, and shows each slide for 10 seconds (or whatever you prefer), and the two 45 Second videos.
  2. Add them to a Schedule, and they would be set up like this: Slides Presentation has a duration of 900 seconds (15 minutes), then Video 1 Presentation is Play Until Done, then Video 2 Presentation is Play Until Done.

This way, you get your 15 minutes of slides, then the video one time, the next video one time, and back to your 15 minutes of slides.

Will that work?

Hello,
I was wondering whether you had seen my follow up question to your response. After testing this, it doesn't look like any of the scheduling options available can make this work the way that I'd like it to work. If I'm overlooking something though, please let me know.

One of the big confusions for me I think right now is the "Playlist" in each Presentation. Can you actually have one placeholder play and then another play? Everything I try just has them all appear at once.

If I can have a webpage show for 15 seconds and then load a static image for 15 seconds, etc as part of a single presentation then your suggested solution would work, but that doesn't seem possible.

Maybe. The 10 or so slides though - and I wasn't clear on this originally, sorry - are a combination of many different things. Four of the slides are webpages that have live information from a couple of feeds, and the rest are still images.

Is it possible to have the webpages cycle with the images - like show webpage 1 for 15 seconds, show image A for 15 seconds, show webpage 2 for 30 seconds, etc - within one presentation?

James,

Yup, you can have only 1 Placeholder in a Presentation, that contains your webpage, then your static image. Just use the Web Page Widget, and then the Image Widget, each showing for 15 seconds.

It may help to sign up for one of our upcoming webinars so you can watch how to do this in action.

I hope that helps!
