Recent Issues with Google cache

In the past couple weeks we became aware of what seems to be an issue with Google API. And it's affecting the RSS and RSS List gadgets when used with feeds from wordpress and blogger. Major news feeds that we tested this with don't seem to be affected.

If you noticed that the most recent feed entries don't get displayed using the RSS or RSS list gadgets, or the gadget displays old blog entries that have been deleted already, that means your feed was affected. You can verify it with Google Reader (, since the RSS gadget uses the same API as Google Reader.

Hey everybody,

Just wanted to send out an update that we are currently testing a fix for this issue, and hope to be releasing it in the near future.

I am having that problem now. The RSS List gadget works fine, but the main RSS gadget won't show new items for a long time (at least one day). The RSS feed is generated from a Wordpress blog hosted on my workstation.

How often does the feed itself update?  Is this a feed you can share here?
Hi Neal,

The feed is generated automatically by a Wordpress blog I host in my desktop workstation. I am using the blog as a repository of news, and using different feeds derived from it to drive different things, including a Rise Vision display. I prefer not to share the link on a public forum, as it is not ready for public consumption yet.

When I change the blog, the RSS List gadget at the bottom of the display (news scroll) updates as soon as I close the viewer and re-open it. But the main placeholder in the middle of the display, with the RSS gadget, does not update right away, Sometimes it takes a few hours, sometimes a day or more. I would like to see the changes right away when I edit the blog, and not being able to do that is very frustrating.

Thank you!
