Could I find out the limitations to the video player, I used the Vimeo plugin but was unable to play video through the PI. Is there something else I can do to get this working? Maybe installing a codec or video player? I've got some experience in the PI but not allot, wonder if you could help. Rise vision is great for our small business so we're happy to try things out :)

Thanks

We use Flash to run the Vimeo videos. Because our installation of the Raspberry Pi doesn't include Flash, this will prevent videos from showing up. This also applies to other video formats such as MP4, MOV, M4V.

Unfortunately, it appears that the Pi doesn't support the HTML5 video tag, so WebMs currently don't work either.

Thanks.

Such a big opportunity here! Especially seeing people running the Pi for video ALL the time, it's a shame that we can't run it in our presentations (I've already done numerous tests and formats myself with no luck).

My biggest question is why doesn't Chromium support HTML5 tags!!! It boggles my mind.

I believe its to do with the version of Chromium that is available for the Pi, When you consider that Chromium for Linux is approaching version 40, the Pi still only has version 22 available.

I know there was recent talk of using a different (brand new) browser to Preview a Presentation, and that showed video within it.  You can read up on it here.
