So my company just purchased two new raspberry pis for our lobby screens and I was wanting to know if the installation had changed. I remember about 6 months ago trying on my personal Pi and having to install from the sd card. now i see in the raspberry pi section of your page, running an installer. am i able to load raspian and go to the web page and run the installer and thats it or am i still going to need to format my sd card etc.

A Combs.
To install the RV player, you need to CHMOD the file on the Pi once it's downloaded to the correct permissions and execute from the terminal. (Instructions on the Player download page for CHMOD and install).

You then must go through the Documentation Blake posted to ensure all these items are done to ensure the player performs properly.

Our PiVision player has all this done for you if you're looking to get any additional units :)

Do you guys have an image file ready to use that we can download? Or is that part of the cost for the piVision?

It's part of the cost of the PiVision as we have done extra work on the usability as well. The image is streamlined (And pre-configured for RiseVision) and we've added some additional custom tools (Such as display prefs and Network info) to make administration easier.
