Question on invoicing process for billable gadget

I'm finishing a project aiming to deploy RiseVision in my company for internal communication worldwide. I need some detailed information about the way the billable gadget are invoiced knowing I will have a root company with several sub companies.

  1. Some gadget are billable on a per display basis
How does it work in practice?
    - Is it billed for each registered display of a domain whether the gadget is used by a display or not. Or, it is only billed only for each display showing a presentation including that gadget ?
    - If a presentation uses the gadget but is not displayed during a month, will it be billed ?
    - How can I stop being invoiced for a gadget? Do have I to remove that gadget from each presentation ?

  2. Gadget billable per domain (not sure finally they are. By domain fee is more for service like the storage).
By domain, do we mean the bill will apply for any registered sub-domains from a root Company (even if they don't use the gadget) or only on the sub-domains the gadget is used on. Same question has before :

    - What if the gadget is not displayed for a month period? Is it billed anyway?
    - If a gadget is used by a presentation but never displayed (in the case of an obsolete presentation) on any display, will it be invoiced?
    - How can the bill be stopped? Do we have to  remove the gadget from any presentation?
  3. Is there a way to get an inventory of the gadgets that are used by presentations and for each company in a  company tree ?

Thanks.

Thierry,

Widgets are all billed on a Per Display basis. This means that each individual instance of the Widget running on a Display, results in a charge. If the Widget is 2 dollars per Display and you use it on 5 Displays, you get charged 10 dollars. It doesn't matter how many times you use the Widget in a Presentation that is playing on a Display, only that you used it on a Display.

1. You are correct with: "it is only billed only for each display showing a presentation including that gadget".
  • A Widget is billed ONLY if it is used a Display. So if you have a subscription for a Widget, but you never use that Widget on a Display the entire month, you will not get billed.
  • If the Widget is part of a Presentation, and that Presentation is playing on a Display, you will be billed for that instance of the Widget. If the Widget is part of a Presentation that is NOT played on a Display, you will not be billed.
  • To stop being invoiced for a Widget subscription, you can either stop using the Widget on any Display (meaning you have to remove it from any Presentations currently playing on Displays), or you can cancel the Subscription. If you cancel, you will have to purchase a Subscription to the Widget again to use it in your Company.

2. You will have to have a Widget subscription in every Sub Company you want to use that Widget in. For example, if you want to use the YouTube Widget in your Parent Company, and 5 Sub Companies, you will have to have a Subscription for the YouTube Widget in EACH Company.
  • If you have a Subscription in the Parent Company, that Subscription does not apply to any Sub Companies.
  • If you have a Subscription, and you don't use the Widget in a Presentation on a Display in your Company or a Sub Company, you will not be billed for that Subscription.
If you cancel, you will have to purchase a subscription to the Widget again to use it in that Company.

3. Currently the only way to see what Widgets are being used by a Company would be to look at that Company at https://store.risevision.com. It will show any Widgets that are in trial, trial expired, or currently have a subscription. You will also be able to see any Widget Subscriptions that cannot be used since they are in a state of "Service Suspended". Service Suspended Subscriptions are a result of the invoices not being paid for consecutive billing periods.

You can also see any Widgets being used in the Placeholders of a Presentation. They will show the current Subscription status next to the name of the Playlist item.

I hope that helps, let me know if you have any further questions. Thanks!

"If the Widget is part of a Presentation, and that Presentation is playing on a Display, you will be billed for that instance of the Widget. If the Widget is part of a Presentation that is NOT played on a Display, you will not be billed."

So if a widget is in a presentation that is scheduled to play, you will be billed whether or not the widget itself is scheduled in placeholder settings. Also, are you billed for scheduled but inactive displays, or just displays with s 'heartbeat?

BiologyBen,

If the Presentation with the Widget is scheduled and DOES play on a Display, then they are billed. If it is scheduled but DOES NOT play on a Display, you are not billed.

The authorization to determine if the Widget is running on a Display requires a Display ID, and is called when the Widget begins playing on the Display. As soon as the Widget is active on the Display, it says "Hello, I am now playing on a Display, this is the Display ID I am playing on." If this action does not occur, you will not be billed.

You are only billed for Displays that successfully play the Widget, regardless of the state of the Display. If it is playing a Presentation that contains a premium Widget, and you have a subscription, you will be billed for that Display.

One thing I would like to make perfectly clear, is you must have a subscription to the Widget to be billed for it. You can have it in as many Presentations and on as many Displays as you like, but if the trial is expired and you do not have a subscription, it will simply say it is not authorized to show in the Presentation, and you will not be billed for any instances. Only once you purchase a subscription, will you be billed for any Displays that Widget runs on.
