I was just wondering how to create a shortcut to the Rise Vision app in Ubuntu. The app auto launches but for example, if I hit alt + f4 to exit and I want to re-launch the program, how do I do that?

Also, how can I make it easy by making a shortcut onto the desktop.

In windows, a shortcut is automatically created and it is awesome. But for ubuntu...no such thing =(.

Any help is greatly appreciated. I am a noob with ubuntu.

Hi Joe,

To create a desktop link, navigate to /home/rvplayer. Right click the file called rvplayer, click make link, then drag that link to the desktop.

It should be as simple as that!

Thanks Blake =). I have another noob question.

What application do I use to run the rvplayer script? It defaults to gedit and that opens up with a text editor instead of launching the application.

Sorry, I am a MS Windows guy. I am very new to Ubuntu.

Thanks again =)

Joe,

When you open it click 'run in terminal', it will ask if you want it to start when Ubuntu starts, just press y then enter.
