Hi Amelia,

I just tried adding @cnn to the Twitter Gadget and I saw the profile pictures on my Display.

Can you provide a little more detail as to what Twitter query you are using. Large or small images, etc.

Is it showing a broken image link, or something else that would indicate that there is supposed to be an image visible?

Thanks.

I am using a couple of our school accounts- all that have avatars -

@MaristCounselin OR @maristnews OR @MS_Foundations OR @MaristDistance OR @MaristAlumni OR @MaristDebate

The images are showing up broken.

Can you try restarting your Display?

While you are logged in to Rise Vision, go to the Displays page and then in to the Display in question. Click on the Restart Player button.

It is possible that for some reason the Display wasn't able to download the images at the time.

I'm having the same problem using a Raspberry Pi model B as the display, but it isn't working on the presentation preview either.  All of the avatars are just blank, no matter if they are from our accounts or other users.  Restarting the player under Displays did not make a difference.  I've tried both large and small avatars.  I'm not sure what else to check.  I have 6 placeholders.  Two of them are blank while the others are running weather, a calendar, an RSS feed and Twitter.  The presentation is 720x480 (planning on outputting to a composite destination) but testing on a 1920x1080 monitor.

If you use  @risevision in the search query, do you see avatars for the tweets there?  I just tried using that on the Pi I have here and it worked fine.

Thanks.

I flushed the .cache folder and rebooted as you suggested in a similar post, but that didn't work.  I modified the gadget with @risevision as the only query, saved and published the presentation, but still no joy-- the avatars are white boxes to the left of the tweets.  Thank you for the help.

Since it is happening in the preview as well, I just realized what it is:  web content filter.  I'm going to set the display to bypass the filter and update this post with the results.

Thanks for the update.  Good to hear you found a solution.

That was the problem.  Setting the display to pass the filter allowed the avatars to show immediately on both queries.  Thank you again for your help.
