Problem Purchasing Storage for a Sub Company

I am having a bit of a problem purchasing storage.

We have a "Main Company" where myself and the other consulting support admins and all of their presentations reside. This top level company does NOT use, nor does it require RV storage to get the job done.

Below the Main company , there is a Customer Sub Company. Beneath that sub-company are 3 or 4 "branches" or Sub-Sub Companies

All of the Sub Companies wish to pay for and use RV Storage. We in the Main company do not wish to do so if it is avoidable.

Steps to replicate the issue:

When I log in as myself, I switch to the sub company (any of them) and I then go to storage, I am informed that I am on trial and will expire. I attempt to click the expiration notice and nothing happens. This action previously (last week) sent me to the store.

I then go to the store "manually" and order up storage from the menu. I re-google -authenticate, switching back to any one of the sub companies if required. I am presented with the selection below, to be added to the cart. All good so far.

Processing the item for the cart and placing the order appears to go off without a hitch as well.

And now I reach the end of the road. With all payment information complete and double checked, I attempt to place (2nd use of the "place" verb) the single month storage order for the sub company.

If I walk away leaving it here, the page will eventually time out after a few hours.

I get the feeling that I am missing something fundamental. In order to purchase for sub companies am I also required to have a subscription at the main/parent company? If so, then why?

I only have 10 days to figure this out, so any guidance would be fantastic.

Thanks for the very detailed steps Dave, I will test this now and log a high priority bug if I can recreate.

Thanks!

Dave,

I just tried this myself and it worked exactly as I expected it to, so I'm a little perplexed.

Can you do me a favor and try going to https://store.risevision.com in a Google Chrome Incognito window, clicking the Cog icon in the top right and selecting the ACPL Sub Company, and then try to purchase Storage for them and let me know if you get the same behavior?

I tried it at rva.risevision.com following your steps above and it worked like a charm for me, so I wonder if that is where the issue lies for you.

I did however have the same issue where clicking on the subscription status didn't work, so I am logging a bug for that now.

Thanks!

Appears the issue is tightly bound to Chrome on OSX.  I am inexplicably rejecting the cert presented by Stripe. When going direct to stripe from the "sponsored by" link on the order form, I get this:

  • Just before you suggested incognito, I was already in Safari and it completed a transaction first time out of the gate. I then went back to Chrome, attempted the normal steps again and it failed again.
  • Then, switching to incognito, chrome worked as well.

Go figure.

Doh, and here I was testing on Windows 7. I'll try the same thing on Mavericks Chrome and see if I can recreate. If I can, I'll get a bug logged.

I'm glad to hear you found an option that worked!

Dave,

I just tested this on my OS X Yosemite machine, running Chrome 39.0.2171.95 (64 bit) and it worked like a charm. Also when I clicked on "Powered by Stripe" in the Pay modal, Stripe comes up exactly as expected.

Can I ask the version of Chrome you are running?

Also is it possible there is a plugin in Chrome that is causing this issue? Typically plugins do not run in Incognito mode, and also Chrome Plugins won't be running in Safari, so maybe that is why it was successful in Safari but not Chrome.

Thanks!
