Problem publishing to display

OK, so I'm a newbie to Rise Vision.  It was recommended by a friend and I've been impressed with the platform and have enjoyed getting familiar with it.  I've created my first presentation, created a display, schedule, published, etc., and am getting nothing on the display screen that is connected by HDMI to the laptop I am using.  Am I missing something?  I've watched all the tutorials and I think I'm doing what I'm supposed to be doing, but obviously not.  Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks, John

Hi John!

Glad to hear about the referral! Send on our thanks.

It sounds like the Rise Player is not running on the display. Have you added Rise Player to the laptop? Is the display it's connected to mirroring the laptop's screen?

If you haven't already checked out our help documentation on Create a Display it may help you out.
The display will mirror the laptop just fine.  And I downloaded the Rise Player app and connected it without any problems.  There is a red heart by the display name.  Thanks for the quick response.

John,

Is the Rise Player currently running?
I'm not currently on the computer that is connected, but it is running on the laptop.

John,

The red heart by the display name would indicate that the Rise Player is either offline, or closed. You may want to check the laptop to ensure it is connected to the internet and that the Rise Player is currently open.
Thanks.  I'll check that out, but it will have to be later.  Got a meeting to go to.  I'll check it out tomorrow morning and let you know.  Thanks again for the help.
Well, the good news is that I got the presentation on the display!!  Yay!!  But the resolution is way off.  Any hints on how to get the resolution right?  Thanks again.

John,

That's a tough one to troubleshoot, it could be a limitation of your video card, or the display you're using. Can you assign the display to use the same resolution that your laptop screen uses?
Yeah, I'll try to do some tweaking.  It's off on the laptop as well, so I need to change it there anyway.
