This morning on our production networks we are intermittently unable to install rise. We know the network is working because we can remotely connect to the devices.

When we try to run the install, we get ...

Not sure what is going on?!

Dave,

Is there a proxy set in the OS, or any other sort of network specifics on these Displays?

Not that we have seen. We have o. Display configured identically to the other two and it works with no problem. The only variable might be signal strength.

Just lab tested a clean build of windows on a device that was working in the field 2 days ago. It has full internet connectivity, there is no proxy, and I can connect to it remotely with teamviewer on both local and cellular networks. From its desktop, I can browse any website I want to.

But when I try to install Rise, I get the same thing that happened in the field (with a different network/device) yesterday:

Note, in the 10 minutes it took me to collect my thoughts and type the update above, something changed. I decided to go back to teamviewer and clicked "Continue" just for the heck of it.

I put in the pre-existing displayID and the installer proceeded to download the latest version.

Just thought I would let you know that the routine that the installer uses to test for the existence of the internet, is a might-bit sensitive to something out there.

Interesting. Thanks for letting us know Dave!

I can't say I have run into this issue on a network that has no proxy or internet issues, but I will certainly keep an eye out. A quick question; Is this the newest installer downloaded from our Create a Display page?

From your comment above, it appears this only happened on one Display, is that correct? Have you seen this occur on any other Display?

Thanks!

The installer was downloaded from the display page to a thumb drive on Thursday and was loaded on to 4 different displays on Friday. 1 display loaded without issue while the other 2 threw a little fit. Eventually all of them updated and have been getting content since Friday.

The lab display was installed from the same thumb drive on Saturday. It imeadiately threw an error and them 10minutes later, was fine.

Dave,

That's a strange one. My initial thought would be a network issue. Please let us know if you see that happen again. Thanks!
