Problem communicating with Rise Storage

One of my presentations stopped showing our college logo. The placeholder for the logo says:
"Sorry. There was a problem communicating with Rise Storage":
http://preview.risevision.com/?type=presentation&id=bff718d0-09b6-4dcb-a453-7ef739cee6d4

Yet the other presentations using this same logo display this same image successfully. For example:
http://preview.risevision.com/Viewer.html?type=presentation&id=c290f488-dfff-42e4-97da-a932cb502...

I can even go to that very image in Rise Storage and see it preview successfully there.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Robert

That's a weird one...let me do some investigating here and I'll let you know what I find.

Thanks!

Robert,

I noticed if you select the logos/ACC_logo_230.png file, it works. When you view the  logos/ACC_logo_280.png in Storage's thumbnail view, it doesn't show. Perhaps there is something wrong with that file? I'm not sure why it works in the other Presentation though...that's a head scratcher.

Can you try switching to the 230 file and see if that works in the first Presentation?

Hey Robert,

It looks like there was some sort of glitch in storage with this file. The first presentation uses the Image Widget to display that image, while the second presentation uses the Image Item. That's the first thing I noticed, and I'll do some investigation into why that's the case.

I did delete then re-add that image to your presentation, it's now appearing on the preview normally.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention. I'll see if I can recreate this issue so I can bring it to the attention of our developers.

I see that the ACC_logo_280.png has been replaced with the ACC_logo_230.png file in that presentation, and it displays fine.

S o there may have been some kind of storage glitch, as Blake mentioned, as this particular logo graphic has been in use for over a year.

To test this, i deleted the ACC_logo_280.png from Rise Storage,  re-uploaded the same file from my computer to Rise Storage, and sure enough, it now works fine on both of those presentations. Perhaps the file had become corrupted somehow?

Thanks for your help,
Robert

That's what I was thinking as well Robert. Hopefully it doesn't happen again!
