Presentation on the TV using a Chrombox isn't showing on the screen properly, like not loading all the widgets.

The presentation loads fine when I click preview on my computer, but when I look out at the TV that has the Chromebox hooked to it. It won't load all the widgets. It seems like every time I reboot the chormebox ore restart the presentation, it's something different that doesn't appear. I went out and took a picture of it with my phone since the preview on my computer looks fine. All the IT people are out right now at my work so I couldn't get their help at the moment.

At one point when I rebooted it, it only was showing the sun picture and background was all white. Ohh I bet the image isn't loading maybe because it's not pulling from our web server where we host our site and images? Never mind the link to the background images does work. http://www.firesideop.com/files/galle...

Is it on WiFi? I have one Chromebox right here on WiFi and it occasionally is not loading elements (usually images). But it by far is not as bad as yours.
- Check how strong is the WiFi signal in your location (use an app on your phone)
- See if you can get Ethernet cable connected to the device
- Reduce the size of images (no larger in pixels than the placeholder showing them and at 72dpi resolution)

Update: I cannot even see the images in preview and the fact that I was seeing a whole bunch of placeholder displaying 'loading images' message, but nothing came up is suggesting me that you really need to revise your presentation. It looks like you are using a ton of over sized images there. But it also can be something else. Where are the images stored?

Also, if this is not a touchscreen presentation, you might as well want to disable the mouse pointer functionality and/or disable interaction in the placeholder.

Yeah I think so. I'll verify.

Okay sounds good. I'll talk with my IT people when they come back and ask them about it. :) I'll have to get back to you, but I guess we do have problems with our wireless connection sometimes so that would make sense.

I'm not sure if it's touchscreen or not. I can probably make the images smaller. It was working all this time so far so I never worried about it. I put the images on bti server. They are a local hosting company. Basin Telecommunications Inc.

I'm not the most experience with this. It was just an idea that got thrown at me to do and I have been learning as I go. :) So I could easily have lots of mistakes, but I will learn.

Most of the image sizes are in KB. Like some are 37kb. The first ones to load are 22.1kb, 8.35kb, and 18.6kb, but we did just recently have problems with our website which is hosted by the same place as the images I am using so maybe that is causing a problem too with my presentation. I did just find out one isn't found anymore so maybe I am also having a btinet server issue. Thanks for your help!

Yup, might be the hosting problem. Images are definitely low in size enough. You can sign up for the Rise Vision storage. The first month is free and it works very well. It is $10 per month later. You might use it as a temporary solution for now and see if you like it later. I am personally (in addition to the RV storage) using GoDaddy hosting for my files and it works very well too. Just suggesting you the options i tried myself and I am 100% certain they work.

Okay thank you. I'd have to bring it up to the owners and see what they think. :) I might have to do that. Thanks!

Also, I don' t know why I didn't think of this before. My text is white so that is why it looked so crazy. I just threw up a background color for now so the widgets are working fine. It's just the images. :)

So I am starting to think it's a problem with where my photos are hosted. If I fix that and still have an issue, I'll let you know. It seems as though if I get our server working, the images will be fine. I might have to re-upload the images to a different location. Thanks for your help!

Looks like I am late to the party :).

That is the first thing I noticed as well, the link to the background image doesn't work. Did you maybe want to try using Rise Storage to host the image?

Thanks!
