I just utilized an old XP computer I have.  I put in a GeForce 8400GS to handle the video.  I switched over my Service Menu presentation from a Windows 7 box that was working just fine to this XP box.  The display ID is Q6XJJ49AT2CQ.  Now, most of my content is not displaying.  My preview works like it should buy my published version does not.

Brannon,

What version of Rise Player are you using? Native Player, or the Rise Player Chrome Application? What version of Chrome do you have installed?

Rise Player Chrome application.  I thought it was weird that I had to download a Chrome app.  The native player works better, right?  I'll have to see what version of Chrome I'm running.

Brannon,

The Native Player is currently under re-development, the current version does not contain a version of Chrome new enough to take advantage of our Web Components.

This is going to be a little tough to troubleshoot, as Windows XP isn't a supported OS, in fact, it's not even supported by Microsoft any longer. Is it possible for you to update this system to Windows 7 or later?

No.  It's an older computer and I don't believe the hardware is compatible.  It's a Dell Vostro 200 with the new video card I mentioned.

Brannon,

It's likely this has to do with the Windows XP OS or it's configuration. If everything from the same presentation was appearing on a Windows 7 machine, it sounds like this is the case.

You might try installing Ubuntu 14.04 on this hardware, you can follow our optimization guide for Ubuntu 14.04 here.

I think part of my problem is that components of my presentation switched to a different display (don't know why).  I found this out after I installed Ubuntu on my machine (oh well).  I think Ubuntu will run better than XP did on this machine anyways so it's not a big deal.  Now I can't get my videos to play in the placeholder.  I have everything else up and running, except for my videos.  I haven't performed the Ubuntu optimization yet.  Any suggestions?  I have my videos listed individually.  Do I have to delete them and put them into a Rise Vision Storage folder?

Brannon,

Are you using the Video Item in your presentation? If so, I highly recommend a move to the Video Widget, or the Video Folder Widget. Also, are your videos in the .webm format?

It shows that I'm running the latest version of Chrome.  I don't know yet if the native player will work for me.
