Playlists & image widget freezing/playing old content in Rise Player

Hi, my name is Ryan Johnson and I work for Empire Digital Signs. We use Rise player as our main player for our media/content. We have been using it and lately have noticed some large inconsistencies in the service. There are a few main problems at hand.

1. We have a presentation that is a playlist of all image widgets and they continually keep freezing and showing old content (and the old content is completely deleted)


2. Certain playlists aren't automatically updating content that we add/delete even though they are set to and the only way that we can do that is to manually send a reboot signal, even though it's already published.


3. We are trying to figure out if this is an issue in The Rise Player App itself ot if it's an issue in the build we are creating within RiseVision.


P.S. with the image widget, we are up to date and we are using the new updated editor instead of the classic editor, since this was instructed from RiseVision itself for that particular widget.


If anyone is experiencing any of this issues, any insight that you could give us regarding these few issues and how to troubleshoot them would be highly appreciated. Thanks.

Hi Ryan,
To confirm, is this the My Rise Player App from Scott's Digital Signage? I have sent through initial replies for another thread earlier https://community.risevision.com/rise... with feedback from the developer about the issue.

Please do the following things. If your having freezing issues please check the device. Sometimes a restore of the OS or a reload of the firmware will fix freezing issues. There is always a chance the device has a file curruption in the firmware. Also be sure your on the latest 5.4 version of the app that is out there. There is a 5.5 update coming but we are awaiting on testing to finish up. 

As far as content updating thats usually a rise issue but if your using the folder option there are a few things you need to know. The contents of folders dont download unless you either republish the presentation or reboot the app. Also it might take sometime for rise servers to update or add the new content to there servers. For example we noticed it took rise servers to update a file with the same name 20 minutes to show or download. I notified them on it and they are looking into it. Files with the same names is an issue with the current app, but in 5.5 it will redownload all files and replace any file on reboot. We are working on making this better but it does take time.
