Playlist with multiple image widgets has timing problem

I would like to have multiple instances of the free Image Widget in a placeholder, each playing a folder of images, one after the other. I am using RiseVision storage (free trial), so I can play a folder of images as a slideshow. What I hope to accomplish is to have all of the images in one folder play, then all of the images in another, and then another; eventually starting over from the beginning with the first folder, each image in all of the folders having been displayed once for the same amount of time. I would eventually like to have the subsets of the image widgets displayed on different display in different locations.

When I did this with a single folder of images, it worked fine. All of the images played and then started over from the beginning again.

I am currently trying this with two folders. What I am seeing now is that when the presentation switches from one image widget to another, the last image (alphabetically by file name) shows first for the chosen time interval (20 seconds), then the first image shows very briefly, only for a second or two, and then the second image shows for the chosen time. This happens every time the playlist switches from one widget to another.

Each image widget has the following playlist properties set:

Duration: Play Until Done
Timeline: Always

In the Image Settings for each widget, "Resume Playing from Last Position" is unchecked.

I hope there is some way to get this to work.

Hold on, this may be working now. I made a "non-change edit" and published again, just to get rid of the "Revised" flag. I'll follow up when I can confirm the problem is gone or not.

No, the problem is still there. The presentation seems to play properly once, immediately after I publish it, then goes back to showing the problem.

William,

I am seeing something similar over here with an exact duplicate of your PowerPoint Images Presentation. I'm going to investigate a bit further and I will let you know what we discover.

Thanks!

William, I was able to recreate this. I am going to get this over to the appropriate team, and I will let you know when this is corrected.

Thanks!

Hi All, we are experiencing the same problems with a combination of multiple folders and single images. The timing is sporadic and will interrupt the order of play.

Grace and William,

Very sorry for the issue, we will update everyone when we have more information.

Thanks!

Grace and William,

We discovered that this is a Chrome issue, that does not appear in the next version of Chrome, which should be available in the near future, but best guess is it will be 3 - 4 weeks before this is corrected.

I tested a simple workaround for this, and it worked like a charm!

If the first picture in your folder is Picture1, upload the EXACT SAME picture to that folder, and call it Picture1-1, so it shows right after the first one.

Now, when you save and publish your Presentation, you see the first image in the folder!

Let me know how you make out!
