Playlist in the placeholder not working

I am facing a strange issue.

Go this presentation and click on preview:
http://rva.risevision.com/#/PRESENTATION_MANAGE/id=e4bcc9dc-63a0-485c-a8ab-1bace92def12?cid=98919274...

The presentation contains number of video and image items in the playlist. Video items have PUD checkbox selected and images are set to run for 20 sec.

If the first item is image, the playlist works in the expected manner as shown in the above presentation.

But if the first item is a video (you can test it by changing the sequence in the above presentation), the playlist doesn't work as expected - will show all images first, followed by videos. I have tested it in preview as well as on display and getting the same result.

Hi Sanjay,

I am not seeing this on my end.  I just tried it out in Preview as you said you see this in Preview as well.  I changed the order so that it plays Video / Image / Video / Image, etc. and at startup of the Preview, it does play the image first instead of the video, but I think that is because it needs a bit more time to get the video.  After that initial start, it does alternate between the Video and Images.  If you are testing anything with videos I would give it time to run through the entire list in your Placeholder to see what the behaviour is after that.  Also, just a note that when using non-Storage video, it does not use the Rise cache.

Yes, it did seem to work correctly after initial load, thanks!

So we are not supposed to use third-party storage? I thought Rise Cache is independent of storage and if same content is played, the player will load it from cache instead of going to sever.

Sanjay,

As of right now, Rise Cache is only used for media items hosted by Rise Storage.

Has it changed recently as I am not aware of such requirement in the past?

How does this make sense from user perspective?

Sanjay,

To my knowledge this has not changed recently.
