Player resolution does not match the screen on Android

We have a brand new Insignia TV with an Android OS device attached to it.  The screen resolution is set to 1920x1060, but the (two different) rise vision players I have downloaded are saying the resolution is 1280x760.  Is there any way to overrride this on the player?  We are using the Rise Vision Player and Scott's Digital Signage app.

Hi A.P. Rsupply,
You won't be able to change or override the resolution via the Rise Vision interface (ie the Displays app), you will need to change the resolution on the actual hardware itself. This means that the default resolution is currently 1280x760.

I am not too familiar with Insignia TV but I would recommend seeing if you can change the resolution over on the Display end. You can also change the resolution of the presentations within Editor from 1920x1060

I've asked William with Scott's Digital Signage if he can chime in here as well.

Thanks!

Not all android devices are 1080p. Some of the old android devices had a 720p kernel but had a 1080p setting. This setting only upscaled 720p to 1080p but the resolution stayed at 1280x720. To check this, download a resolution checker thats free in the play store. If it reports the same as my app, then your looking at a device with a 720p kernel. The only way to get true 1080p is a custom rom with a custom 1080p kernel. I had a few devices that had this issue and learned the hard way that this is the case on some devices. I found most of my custom rom and kernels on www.freaktab.com

Thanks William. I did a search here for our RKM MK902 and you said that this device isn't 1080p, recommended FreakTab as well.

I have no idea what rom/kernel to look for so I posted that question there.

Here is where the roms for that device are. There are two that refer to your model.

Thanks, William. Now to learn how to do this. Quickshot looks like what we need.

YouTube is your friend on this. That's how I learned on a few devices
