Hi there,

It sounds like you may be having an issue with user permissions on this device. Is the user you are installing as an administrator?

When running the Rise Player Installer, could you right click and click "run as Administrator"?
User is an Administrator. Ran it "As Administrator" ...... exact same results

I ma just guessing... If you installed Chrome browser and logged in with your Google account before installing the RV App, you might wanna check if there was another instance of RV App that leaked in with Chrome Apps when you 'synchronized everything' when logged in with your Google account. There cannot be two RV Apps on the same machine.
Thanks, that seems to be the problem/fix.

I do not want to create another topic, so I am just gonna post it here.
I have something funky going on with the Rise Vision App. We started another project on brand new Intel Compute stick. For some weird reason I decide to put my Google account firs before installing RV App. Sure enough, that account still had old RV App from Chrome Store; therefore, the device got 'contaminated' because everything gets synced on the initial setup... thanks Google.
Of course, the installation crashed. After what I cleaned up my Google apps, but the installation would hang up with a message:
I dived deep and found the installation file and started it manually. It worked and the RV App was installed successfully, and it is actually working fine. Yet there is something wrong. At he the App startup I do not see the 'countdown' window. It boots up to white screen, then it is grey spinner screen, and then my presentation.
I am sort of hesitant at this point to deploy a unit like that because I am not sure about its future reliability, would it be getting updates etc.

Darius,

That's a weird one. Which file did you add to Startup to start the app when the machine starts?

Robb, weird thing is that none of RV Apps is showing in Task Manages under Startup Apps. However, Electron is starting automatically, and this is what I have running in the Processes.
Also, I just learned after playing with another Windows Intel Stick, that the behavior I described above is caused (most likely) by me putting the PC into the Tablet Mode. Now I am thinking that I should not have let you know about this trick because the RV branding is pretty much gone ))) Nah... we do not care, but I am not sure if you want to do something about that. Just wanted to let you know.

Darius,

I'd like to take a deeper look into this machine if that is ok. I'll email you so we can discuss.

Thanks!
