I am running a PC compute stick, I have recently had trouble with the machines not connecting back to the internet after a shut down. They start out fine and for some reason they lose there connection via the customer or other issue, then they try the computer again and it will not connect. The PC starts fine and it is talking wi the internet via a USB dongle but it will not connect. I end up having to send a new player. Also many players old or new ones lose there display ID's. This stuff is very embarrassing and I end up losing customers.

Jim, you say those stick players use USB dongle for the wired Ethernet connection? Is that correct? Also, are those models from the second generation of Intel Compute Sticks, like such: https://www.amazon.com/Intel-Compute-Computer-Processor-BOXSTK1AW32SC/dp/B01AZC4NHS/ref=sr_1_4?s=ele...

If this is the case, then it is VERY IMPORTANT to make sure that USB dongle is plugged into the USB 2.0 port. In the provided link to Amazon's page check the 4th photo. It shows the side with 2 USB ports. So, NEVER use the blue-colored ports as it is USB 3.0. Always use USB 2.0 port for anything crucial, such as Ethernet connection or WiFi antennas. The sticks are fine, there is no need to replace them, change the port.
