page refresh

When watching in Preview and then updating the page with new content. The new content does not update on the preview page that I have running in another window. It will update if I f5 it or restart a new refresh. Is there a way to correct this.
My senario is I built a single kiosk app and push it to a chromebox. The chromebox is mounted behind a tv with out a keyboard or mouse attached. Everything works except refreshing the page with new content. The point of doing this is that I don't have to have a user sign in to use the chrome app to make this work. As sated before I am in trials (there for new user)of testing this product (and other products) and so far I am liking for what I am trying to do.
Thanks
Rick

Rick,

I'm slightly confused as to what you're trying to accomplish here. Anytime your presentation is updated through Rise Vision, your chromebox should update the content. If you're using a web page widget to display a web page in your display, you will need to set a refresh rate through the widget.

Hi Blake, I am not using a widgit. What I did was build an app that points directly to a web url. The chromebox boots and the single kiosk app launches. It goes directly to the sites URL. My URL is the same as when in editing and pressing the play button. I then appended the preview url with &showui=false. This hides the preview pane.

That said the only limitation is the refresh of the web page. We currently do this same approach with another digital signage product we are using.

Thanks for your input on this. It is very much appreciated.

Thanks Blake for the quick reply. In testing we review how we currently do digital signage to if we move to a new product. What changes we have to do (from current practices) and what training would we have to supply to our end users with the new product. also what remains the same...such as if only a web url is needed to view content of the screens.
Investigating the chrome app player is on my list also.
The nice thing bout using a self built kiosk app to point to a url is that it is basically self contained. It requires no user to sign on to launch the app. It requires no keyboard or mouse after it is set up on the TV. If there is a power outage you just need to press power on the chromebox and it will go straight to the url.
Now if having to sign in to launch an app to get the product to work means I may have to do some kind of limitation on the user account being used for that purpose. Its fine to have to sign in with a google account to edit the pages. I thought this was like viewing a webpage, where as the browser could refresh the page. I guess it falls more in line with possibly only caching pages in the browser. With all this said I have not looked at the apps so I may be out to lunch on how that part works...LOL

Thanks again. Your thoughts and help are very much appreciated.

Rick,

You can set up our Chrome App to auto launch into your presentation when your chromebox boots up. No need to launch a program or sign in at all.

Rick,

Are your amazon images shared publicly? You could be signed into the amazon account on the computer that you're previewing from, which would explain why preview has access to the files.

Hi Blake, The images are public. I just sent the same link to the file to another coworker and she could view it.
