We would like to make the community aware of an issue that is impacting all Rise Vision Widgets.

Due to a service outage with Amazon S3, some aspects of Rise Vision, primarily Widgets, will fail to load properly. This will impact both Presentation Editor, as well as Presentations displayed on a Rise Player. We recommend that you do not reboot any Rise Players during this outage.

We will keep this thread up to date as we get more information.

Our Support ticketing software is also being impacted by a service outage. Due to this, responses to support requests may be delayed.

Amazon has identified the issue, and is actively working to resolve it.

This outage is really starting to drag....our customers are slowly dropping URL presentations. Would I be better off going back to my hosted Gadget URL?

I guess it doesn't matter...I can't even get into the presentations...
Any updates?

As seen:

https://status.aws.amazon.com/

and here:

https://twitter.com/awscloud

This is a rather widespread issue affecting Amazon Web Services, specific to storage across the US-EAST region. Due to the nature of this issue, I would not expect a repair from Rise Vision as it is a core issue with the AWS cloud based hosting services (that runs a rather large % of popular cloud storage across the NA Internet base).

Amazon is clearly aware of the issue and working to have this rectified as soon as possible.

Thanks for the input KSteele.

We don't have any updates at this time, we're waiting on news from Amazon Web Services.

It may be a little premature, but Amazon S3 hosting appears to be back up, and the Widgets I have tested are working!

It appears to be erratic, but at least Amazon is moving in the right direction!

I personally was able to get some of our displays up and kept them from restarting or refreshing to display static content, pending full repair from Amazon.

Currently we are seeing the same symptoms you refer to, namely, erratic at best, but at least beginning to push hosted content from specific AWS regions.

Starting to see some life back in our displays. If content is still off, Rebooting the Player seems to fix things.

It looks like things are back up and running!

No luck at my end.  I still get "Rise Storage Subscription is not active."  No luck on rebooting the player from the website.  Any suggestions?

Dan,

The outage yesterday wouldn't cause that. It looks like you have some assets in Rise Storage, but your Rise Storage subscription has expired. You can resolve this by logging into your account, then purchasing a Rise Storage subscription.

Not sure if the problem I am having (see my most recent post) is related to this or not, but I was under the impression that this had been entirely resolved as all of Amazon AMS services appear to be online according to their list available to the public.

We are currently unable to save or publish any changes to presentations due to everything being reverted upon hitting the publish button.

I'm having issues assigning placeholders to displays in the Properties > Distribution section when editing a placeholder.

The issue is not just assigning placeholders. Its ANY EDITS at all... They will automatically revert all changes made as soon as you hit the publish button. (My experience today)

Please see the outage notice posted here. A defect was introduced to Presentations this afternoon, and it was quickly reverted. You may need to clear your browser cache.
