I have a mac mini that can be used and I would rather not use the Chrome Webstore app if possible, nor do I want to setup Ubuntu or Windows on it. I swear at one time there was an official installer for OS X but I may be remembering wrong on that.

Zack,

We don't have an OS X Player at this time. There was one years and years ago, but for now, we only support Windows and Linux.

Thanks!

Are there plans to bring it back? We are a Mac based school district and many of our displays are running powerpoint off of mac minis, usually out of wifi range, negating most chrome devices (especially since the chrome os app hasn't had an update since February [although that is community supported now]). The ability to use rise vision in this way would greatly help our district.

Zack,

There are no plans to bring it back at this time, but we will inform everyone if this changes.

I've gone ahead and changed this to an Idea, and reworded the title a little, to see how many other users are interested in the same idea.

Another option that you may want to consider is that since our Player is completely open source, if you have the developer capacity, you can take our player and build whatever you need!
I hope that helps!

We run Mac across all our business units and it would prove most helpful to have a Mac-based interface.

I'm setting up a mac to use the Chrome extension: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/rise-player/ilcmohdkjfcfekfmpdppgoaaemgdmhaa

Auto login, auto launch the extension app. Hope it works.

I'd also like to add that we use the Mac player on our campus.  I really hope you reconsider supporting this again.

Would LOVE to have a mac player. This would make life on campus much easier. The Chrome extension though works REALLY well, but for some reason it does NOT show up in the Chrome Apps search. I can only get it from the above link.

Hi there, This is because it has been unlisted in the Chrome Apps Store, and can only be found with the direct link. If we add a Mac Player, we will be sure to let everyone know.

Thanks!
