I have a Risevision presentation using the Web Page Widget displaying a full motion animated webpage with motion and sound. The sound plays if I load the URL into my desktop browser and also if I open the preview of my presentation on my desktop. However the sound does not work from the Chromebox, I've confirmed the Chromebox is outputting audio to HDMI and it's volume is turned up. Is there any other configuration I'm missing?

Hi Adam,
Just had a look at your account.  I am not able to help further as some of the links are blocked when being accessed outside the work network.  The Facewall TV and Hoopla presentations are using the Web Page Widget calling out to a URL.  I am getting this error when I try to preview:

Not Authorized
Security Restricted
Sorry, you are not authorized to view this channel. Please check with your system administrator and try again.

There is another presentation called Facewall After Dark which also has the Web Page Widget linking out to a herokuapp.com subdomain but I am also getting an authentication required message.

Can you please confirm if this authentication is required for the Web Page Widgets? Thanks!

That's right, we do use IP authentication, the presentation I'm troubleshooting is named "Hoopla". I can take off the restriction temporarily, I would not want the URLs to be shared here on the forum though.

Hi Adam,

Which format will the video be on - is it MP4 or WEBM?  I know that previously in another thread there were some incompatibilities with the audio codec being used.

Do you have the codec and file format information at hand?

Thanks

It's not a video file but a webpage, we run Hoopla (www.hoopla.net) which we display via a URL. We used to run it full screen in a web browser on a Mac outputted to a TV and want to convert it to Rise.

Checking the source code, it appears to use both MP4 and WEBM and possibly does something to display the more compatible type?

I could direct message you a URL to view the presentation if you'd like.

Hi Adam,

If you are able to view the video on the preview and Display but the audio the source is most likely the audio codec being used.  I would say something that is readily compatible with HTML5 video ie MP4 format on H.264 with AAC audio codec or WEBM on VP8 video codec and Vorbis audio codec.  This can be confirmed by the video producer since I don't think I'll be able to extract that info from the web page unless I can download the file.

Thanks

Hannah
