New Weather Gadget?

It seems there is a new weather gadget since the last time I built a presentation and needed to add the weather gadget. Can't seem to get it to show in my presentation: CHS Presentation 1920x1080. (http://rvauser.appspot.com/#PRESENTAT...).

Think it has to do with the configuration. I have 2 separate placeholders for whether and this new gadget seems to be designed for current and forecast to go into one placeholder. Just guessing.

Thanks.

We recently added the Weather Widget to replace the previous Weather Gadget. Once you initially add the Widget, you'll need to configure it with the appropriate settings (layout, font size, etc).

While it appears in a different format, the options available are the same as the previous Gadget and you should be able to get it to appear as the old one.

When I Preview your Presentation, I do see the weather appear, but it doesn't look like it has been configured to fit the size of the Placeholder (font is too large).

Please let us know if you need additional assistance in setting this up.

Thanks.

Neal,

I suppose I do need some assistance setting up your new Weather Widget. I've configured it with tiny fonts, choosing (what I think is) appropriate layout, etc. All I can see is some little tiny weather icons, i.e. clouds, etc. no temps or text.

Could you take another look at my config and give me some pointers?

Thanks.

I made a few tweaks to the Presentation. Can you review to see if we're on the right track?

I adjusted the size of the one Placeholder, as well as set the Service Description to be None. I also adjusted the color of the font so that it is easier to be read.

Thanks.

I see. It looks great! I just need to adjust the font size to a bit bigger on the forecast side. Thanks so much, Neal! I had been tweaking it for almost an hour.

Hello again, I downloaded the git folder and in the instructions, in order to change the hostURL to our own I have to: "Next, open up the weather.js file in a code editor and do a search for hostURL. You are looking for the following line:
this.hostURL = "https://s3.amazonaws.com/Widget-Weather/";"
However, I can't seem to find weather.js...I edited widget.js but it gave me an error when I added the plugin to the presentation when I clicked "configure". Did I miss something?

Ksenia,

You were correct. Our documentation references weather.js, but widget.js is the file you needed to edit.

Did you follow the instructions here to add your widget to the platform?

Hi Ksenia,

My apologies, but can you use the source code from this location instead? This is the correct version that includes weather.js.

Thx.

Both of you were helpful - I didn't add it correctly, so thank you Justin! Also, thank you Donna for the correct link :) It works now :D
