New Editor Feedback and Suggestions

  • Under Consideration
Throughout the site (including the new editor), there needs to be some shortcuts added to return to the main (first screen after sign-in) screen for purposes of selection.  In particular, using the UI I frequently wind up in the old interface 'by accident'.  As a for instance... I'm in the UI Editor.  I click the little blocks and choose editor to start a new session with a different presentation.  Surprise!  I'm in the old editor.  When that I happens, I click 'start' and get a blank screen.  Then I click 'home' and must login again.  I'd prefer that 'home' become my logged in start page instead of the public website.

Upon sign-in, I click the little blocks and choose the new UI editor.  Surprise!  I'm in the old editor.  It would be nice on the sign-in screen to have the option to open an existing presentation in the UI without having to go through a meaningless create process.  Perhaps you could add the short-cuts to the top of the sign-in screen same as they are at the top of the new UI screen?

I agree with other posts (and I've liked them) that the screen format changing is too aggressive.  Once I've adjusted my screen to my preferences by setting browser magnification so that I can see the entire presentation, that left-hand panel pop messes me up every time.

I agree with other posts (and I've liked them) that the pallet needs to reflect (WYSIWYG) what has been defined without the requirement to use preview.  'Nuf said.

The transitions must flow (liked them).  Choice for random transition would be nice (liked).

Templates.  Need them.  Make them go.

Choosing background color (transparency/opacity) pop-ups need to be standardized.  Already reported to Ashleigh since I couldn't make it work because I couldn't see the option slider.

Using the text widget... custom fonts... should be added to the supported font list and REMAIN ON IT.  Making changes to text content frequently results in loss of custom font requiring getting the link again.  It would be better to allow direct access to storage for font files instead of having to specify a link.  I understand about using external links but... I want what I want and I want it to be consistent throughout.

Using the text widget... frequently having trouble with not getting what I see.  This seems to particularly affect line spacing and phantom returns resulting in the text being too low.

Overall, I am liking the new interface and recognize that we're all still in beta.  I'm just trying to be a good RiseVision Citizen and do my part to contribute to the collective.

Regards,
Carl

Hi Carl,

One question, could you please clarify what you mean here: "Templates.  Need them.  Make them go."

Thanks!

Carl, which transitions are you using?
