I often get calls from customers about displays not working even though the control panel shows a green heart.  Sometimes I log into a machine with a green heart to find the heart on that screen is red.  Maybe it works on a per machine screen, but I don't have time to log into each of 30 or so screens to see if they are working every morning.

Hi Tony, the above issue with the status being incorrect is something that developers are working on correcting right now.

Thank you.  Very good news.

Is this a new thread or related issue?  ...The restart machine option doesn't seem to work either.  Restarting the machine seems to fix the issue where the player does not start...which is another issue.  If we use the "reboot machine" option, the customer tells us the PC is still just showing the wallpaper.  If we use Logmein to physically go in and restart the machine...it works.

Are you using Chrome App player?  The Reboot Computer button doesn't work with CAP and also the machine should be configured in the OS to reboot nightly because the Scheduled Reboot time will also not have any effect.  The Restart Player does work.  However, neither will work if the player is not currently running (ie if you are seeing just the desktop of the PC).

I am using Chrome App player because I was told I had to switch because the other player didn't function properly and was causing our files to be blocked since the library changes. We've been scrambling to keep our machines working properly ever since.

Thanks Blake.  I had Daniel go through and do this on the machines that were having issues.  A restart task has been a part of most of our machines, which is why the issue was limited to a few machines.  Will the functionality for reboot and restart player eventually work for the Chrome App player?

tony,

It unlikely that Chrome App Player will get this functionality. Since this player is fully browser based, it doesn't get the system permissions required on either Linux or Windows to execute a reboot command. This functionality does work on ChromeOS devices.
