I am not new to Digital Signage except I am new to Rise Vision DS.  I am interested in finding a mentor for myself in the Los Angeles Area.  So it was suggested that I create a post to discuss this for myself and also to create a new idea around it.

Interesting idea Rich, very clever!

Have you had a chance to check out our Webinar at https://www.risevision.com/webinars/?

That might help.

Thanks!

https://www.risevision.com/webinars/ The ? messed up the direct link.  I have not taken the webinar so I will look into that.  I have been doing DS indirectly and directly since the 80's and I understand the concepts.  The devil is in the detail and that is why I was discussing mentorship.  I know some companies do 'certification' programs except I find those to be too brief most times.  Most of the time the certs don't prove mastery they prove you can sit in a class for a day and take a test.

I am looking at more of a hands on tour, overview, could you help me with this and that.  The best way to learn most DS is creating your own system.  With paid software that can get pricey.  The most expensive part of this is the time as I am sure I can hobble some PC's and get the software going.  I would rather learn from a mentor to help me smooth the ruff edges and keep me from cutting a technology artery.  I have spilled enough technology blood for 10 lifetimes.

If you have ever heard of the SCA I am looking at a structure like that where a master takes on an apprentice and then the apprentice becomes a master in time.  If I remember correctly it is called a peerage system.

Have a great day and thanks for the link.

I can certainly appreciate that some systems can get pricey, that's why we are glad that our platform is free :)

Any questions or issues you run into it, you can certainly ask in here and we will get them answered.

Thanks!
