Language localization/translations for widgets

I was just thinking that it would be nice if users could select language in their profile and have editor, widget UI translated to their native languages. That could be a project for the community. If you want to use RV in your native language, well then get on the board and contribute. Actually The time & date widget made me thinking of this. It is nice to see the name of a month in written form, but it also would look funny in English if your local language is Lithuanian.

Darius,

We would love to have some community input on translations! Thanks for getting the ball rolling.

Within our repos (such as the Web Page Widget or the Google Spreadsheet Widget) we have included some additional notes in how Community members can contribute via translating into another language.

So how the translations get applied? Is this system/browser native language based because I do not remember seeing language options in RV?

Hi Darius,
I've sent through additional info to you via Intercom. Once the translation is done, you can send it for inclusion in the Widget - save it with a .po extension and email the file to support@risevision.com. Indicate the Widget or app the translation file is for, as well as the language that it has been translated into, and we will integrate it after the translation has been verified.

Thank you Hannah. I just wanted to make sure we are on the same page. I have multiple .po files to translate. Some of them have some sort of core or common words or phrases, some of them are directly related to widget... at least this is what I can make by looking at the file names. It is more than 30 files to translate. I just want to be sure I am not working on something unrelated, but those were the only .po files located in that GitHub package in 'src/locales' folder.

Also I have not received anything from you; what is that Intercom?

I believe you have the info that you need now, at this stage at least. If you have further questions, let us know!
