Hi,

I have a problem with Google Calendar widget. In my presentations will not formatting or spelling accord to Swedish standards. It appears right with Swedish formatting in my personal Google calendar but not in my presentations. I have looked at this post https://community.risevision.com/rise_vision_inc/topics/language-localization-translations-for-widge... but it seems to apply to language of the widget UI and not what we will se on the screen, am I right? Can I do anything to solve it? I'm happy to help with translation into Swedish if needed.

for example I want "Sunday, March 3, 2016 (Sun March 3, 2016)" look like this "Söndag 3 mars 2016 (Sön 3 mar 2016)" in my presentations.

Hi Janne,

It's possible. You would need to contribute a translation to our common-i18n github repo.

Jaane,

I would suggest building a custom layout for the Calendar Widget that you can use by unchecking that checkbox at the bottom of the Widget settings:

More information on using custom layouts can be found here: https://github.com/Rise-Vision/widget-google-calendar

Thanks!

I choose the track with the common-i18n. When I'm not a HTML guy, building a custom layout for the Calendar widget is as hard for me as it probably is for you to speak Swedish, if you don ́t already done your job when looking at the Swedish Chef in The Muppet Show :-)

I have started with POeditor, seems fairly simple. I think I have found the right file for the days and months (common.po). One question, I like to use English as UI language do I then need to translate everything or is it enough to make a PO file with only translated days and months in a Swedish common.po?
I ́m gladly translate other PO files that affect what is seen on the screens, please let me know if there are some files you know about.

Please consider adding a little more choice for us "little endian" DMY countries to "Format" box in the widget, almost every country in the world except the US using DMY (as first or second choice), see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Date_format_by_country.

For example
Friday 18 November 2016
Friday 18 November
Fri 18 Nov
18 November
18 Nov

Thanks!

Hi there Jaane,

After some discussion with our Dev team, I discovered that the Calendar Widget doesn't support multi language translations on a Display. To affect what is going to be seen on the actual Display would have to use a Custom Layout.

Can I ask you to start a new Idea in our forum to get those dates added to the Widget in the formats you need? Ideas that get high votes get more attention as possible improvements to the Widget in the future.

Thanks!
