kiosk mode not updating

Hello, I've got two ASUS Chromebit devices that are managed and have set them all to boot into KIOSK mode.  I boot up my devices and kiosk mode loads great, all content gets displayed.  The problem lies that the presentation does not refresh.  I've tried numerous things such as wipe the device and start over, but nothing it's always the same.  I get the presentation to load, but the presentation will not refresh.  Going into the displays area in rise vision my display only shows it was last online when it was rebooted.  I cannot reboot or restart the player from here.  The little light that shows online status is also red.  The only way to get my content to refresh is to reboot the Chromebit itself.

I do not have any issue with content updating using a windows box with the player installed.

Chrome OS is 47 - content ID is 9R56FJGWQ9TX

When you say content ID, do you mean Display ID? If so, each player needs to have a unique Display ID. Are you publishing changes to the Presentation and is it properly scheduled to the two displays (with unique and discreet IDs) mentioned?

Brandon,

Another thing to make sure of is that you are publishing the Presentation after you make changes. Remember that only after a Presentation is published will those changes show up on a Display.

Thanks!

Yes I did mean display ID - I've only installed on one device so far.  Yes i'm choosing publish as well.  I've been using Risevision for 3 years now and I'm quite familiar with how it works.  I've never had a problem with content not updating until just now using a Chrome device in kiosk mode.

The problem seems to be risevision not seeing the device online.  Which if true, baffles me.

Are you sure the device is connected to the internet consistently? Since they use wireless only it might be worth verifying that first.

Brandon,

Another thing to confirm is that everything is allowed through the network. Can you confirm that everything listed on this page is allowed access through your network security: https://help.risevision.com/user/create-a-display

I believe it is - I can see the device and reboot it from the Chrome management console.

Everything is allowed - like I said, i don't have a problem using a windows box.

Brandon, do you have other Chrome OS devices in the same OU as the Chromebit? How are they behaving?

I've figured out the issue.  It's definitely our filter.  I've allowed everything in the list but something is still being blocked, specifically the url or api that sees the device online.  I've attached to an unfiltered wifi ssid and it's working.  Doing tests with our filter, I don't see any blocked transactions, which is strange.

Thanks Brandon, keep us updated to see if there is a new resource that we need to add in the list
