I have a Chromebox that I am trying to put into kiosk mode. When I follow the pushpin instructions to reset it, I get a yellow exclamation point with a bad extension error. I get through step 4 but when I hit control+D nothing happens. No box reset in step 5. Do I need a wired keyboard for this to work or will a wireless keyboard be fine? I think if I can get past this step the rest of it seems simple enough. Please help. Thanks.

Hi Marty,

All the times I've tried this it was with a wired keyboard. And to confirm, you're following the steps for the ASUS Chrombox outlined here?

Thanks.

Yes I am following those steps to a tee. I will try a wired keyboard and see if that works. I want to be sure that I can run this in kiosk mode without having an administrator account? Thank you for your assistance.

You need to use a wired keyboard, the part of the OS that recognizes wireless devices won't have started working at this point in the boot process.

Thanks for the confirmation! I will definitely get a wired keyboard soon.
