I'd like to roll out the Rise Client to a few machines however it's not possible to do so in the default install location of the user profile - our network is set up with mandatory profiles which are removed on every logoff, which also removes the client. We have the option of running machines off the domain however this is a last resort. I can't find any documentation on installing elsewhere, is this possible?

Our school operates the same way with student profiles being removed after log off, I would talk with your IT department again. Your rise boxes should not have the same image as an academic workstation.

We fully control the setup, it's not so much of a policy thing as something we'd like to do. Installing software on a per-user basis isn't ideal anyway, it hinders flexibility. I assume you mean (group) policy rather than image as the base image would have absolutely no effect. The group policy side of things for us is to make life a little easier with regards to remote access & power management.

Hi there,

Rise Player is intended to be installed on a dedicated media player, with only one user account that logs in automatically. Any other types of installation are not recommended.

Cheers, fair enough; we'll take them off the domain and use other methods to monitor :)
