Inconsistent delays/out of sync for slides/ images using Image Widget-Folder of Images

Hi!

I have a 5120x720 Presentation sliced in 4 pieces over 4 different displays (1280x720 each).

When using 4 different Image Widgets in one Presentation, to display same pictures on all displays, It seems like all the widgets takes their own time to download all images from the Storage. Therefor, it gets out of sync and starts to showing the pictures in the presentation at various times.

Here is the presentation:
http://preview.risevision.com/?type=presentation&id=30df615e-d12d-4d9b-9654-7ca4f5107af0

Any idea how to get the images to start displaying exactly the same time?
Can I work this around with some kind of schedule? Is it possible to sync all images before start showing them?

Best regards,

Ulf,

I'm taking a look at this now. I hope to be back with you with some ideas shortly.

Ulf,

I believe that due to the nature of Rise Cache and the Image Widget, we don't have any way of implementing a "sync" between all of the Image Widgets. Each Image Widget is going to download it's own copy of the Image and cache it, then display it as soon as it can.

I'm trying to think outside of the box here. Could you combine all four images into one single 5120x720 image, then use a single Image Widget placeholder to display that image? That way you won't have to worry about the image widgets being in sync, it will just be one widget showing one image that is large enough to fill all four screens.

Ok, thanks Blake. Yes It would work , but it will be to much of a hassle for my colleagues to combine/edit images for every time we want to add another Picture/slide.

Ulf,

I understand, I'd expect it would be more effort. At this time, I think it, or Darius' suggestion below would be the best solution. I'll ask around to see if anyone has any other ideas!

Thanks. Since we sometimes want to use different placeholders, ddifferen images/widgets the best would be if it is possible to cache or predownload the images from the Folder, somehow :)

If to follow Blake's idea, which I was going to propose initially too, you can put on top smaller placeholders (positioned accordingly) with different content and simply have them enabled/disable based on the need.

Thanks. I will consider the workaround but I think it will get messy and easy to "ruin" the layout. It works like a charm as it is now... just the little detail.... if it just somehow was easy to download/cache all pictures before showing them ; -)

Ulf, try Image Item in old (classic) editor.

Also, have you considered trying HDMI splitter: https://www.amazon.com/HD-108-Powered-Splitter-Support-Outputs/dp/B00BTC5S6O/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&...

One signal to rule them all!

We have this now as well, running Four displays through a splitter. So in the system its only One display, possible to use as Four. But I dont want to clone One display, since we also use the displays seperatly (Sorry, did not mentioned this) and use the Image Widget seperatly in some occasions.
