Incognito

We are a Risevision developer and are seeing some interesting behavior with our widgets running in incognito only.  When we open an incognito browser, log in to Risevision and preview a presentation that contains these widgets, we find that they don't completely load the first time we "Save & Preview."  If we close that window and select "Save & Preview" again, everything loads just fine.

In forum searches, I found reference to some players running in incognito mode when in kiosk mode.  As such, I need to understand what is going on here.

Thank you in advance!!

Hi Joyce,

I'm going to try to recreate what you're seeing. Please give me some time and I will get back with you.

Joyce,

I have been able to replicate what you're seeing on your widgets, however I don't see this happening on Widgets that Rise has developed. I've asked our Content team to take a look.

Hi Joyce, don't worry about the incognito thing. Its not a supported use case.

Thanks

Thank Alan.  However, I received word from Brian Loosbrock that he is seeing the same problem with his testing on a different player (presumably outside of incognito).  They run fine on my player.  I cannot recreate the problem on my player unless I run incognito.

My RV player:  Win7 OS / our own hardware (I'll include player version when I'm at the office)

Brian's RV player:

https://store.risevision.com/product/204/intel-nuc-i3-linux?cid=fda6b49c-3bab-4193-9579-b5538eb8aa8f

Player Version: RisePlayer 2016-03-24-19-30
Viewer Version: 1-06-201604011732
Browser Version: Chrome 49.0.2623.110

I was wondering if "kiosk mode" had anything to do with it because it seems when in this mode it runs incognito by default?

Any help/ input you can provide is much appreciated!

Hi Joyce, I wouldn't worry about an issue that occurs in Incognito mode. As for "kiosk mode", that doesn't apply to Rise Player, or the media player available in the Store that you linked, so I wouldn't worry about that either.

Hope that helps.

Thanks!

Okay...Brian is seeing this widget behavior outside of "incognito" using the player listed above.  Can you work with him to help me understand what the differences are between my player and his player so I can determine what needs to change in our code to accommodate all players?

So I'm beginning to understand the confusion (which is likely mine).  The reason my problem shows in incognito is that there is no memory of the widget previously running.  That is my problem and that's why I can consistently recreate in incognito.

If I launch any of these widgets on a NEW player, supposedly they don't load the first time they are played.  That's what I'm trying to resolve.

I have figured out the problem...thanks all.  Working on the fix as we speak.
