Happy Halloween, everyone! Last week, we worked on more improvements that will hopefully treat, not trick you : )

Viewer rewrite

Our Apps team released a major rewrite of Viewer application last week. We migrated from an old technology to a modern one, increasing automated test coverage and maintainability, with the goal of achieving 99% Player reliability.

Rise Cache improvements for your content

We have released a new version of Rise Cache with some improvements to make it more reliable. The work for caching spreadsheet data into Rise Cache was completed last week for release this week. We are also focused on improving the Video Widget and starting the UX for our new MarketWall solution.

A better Store experience for all

Our Store team has begun a project looking into your most common Store-related questions so we can eliminate some of the reasons you have to get in touch and give you all all-around better experience.

Ongoing Creative projects

We’re currently working with some clients on projects that use the Rise Editor as well as producing wireframes for client projects that will be custom HTML, CSS and Javascript to create interactive directories and event displays. We’ve put together tailored content for a client with multiple presentations in different locations and are building both passive and interactive MarketWalls for a university’s College of Business. We’ve also made some updates to our website, but stay tuned for even more in the coming weeks!

As always, if you’re interested in custom content for your digital signage please get in touch with us at creative@risevision.com.

Maybe the new viewer might explain something.
On Friday, we started having an issue with images being off kilter. Everything looks too far to the left. The base image (loaded as the placeholder, default image) seems to appear ok behind it. Images in the playlist are off to the left and down (misaligned x & y positions, sort of speak) and part of the background image is seen to the right side. I tried checking the placeholder positions but that didn't fix it. Played around with the "Z order" too but I don't know if that matters. Should we re-install the player?

Andrew,

Can you check out what Darius mentioned in this conversation and let us know if that may be what occurred here?

My apologies Andrew, I see you said that you played with the Placeholder positions and this did not correct it.

Can you send a link to your Presentation to support@risevision.com so we can investigate?

Thanks!

Could it be that the new cache improvements for sheets is causing problems with presentations previews? Just yesterday I learned that nobody over here on Windows devices can see the new sheets widgets' content anymore. Although just no more then 2 weeks ago everything was working fine. Errors in developers console is pointing to cache not working problem.

Darius,

I am investigating this now and I will update this post shortly.

Darius, I was able to recreate this on my Windows machine in preview. The Windows Players are still showing the spreadsheet no problem, this only appears to be affecting preview.

I will let you know when we have determined the cause.

Thanks!

Darius,

This issue has been corrected, and I can see the Spreadsheet in your preview from that other conversation. Can you confirm all is working for you now?

Thanks!
