What we did last week:

  • We have discovered a few more issues with Rise Player and proxy’s and further tweaks are being deployed.

  • As part of our reliability tracking of Rise Player our new logging and reporting has identified some situations where Player is freezing and the watchdog will immediately restart it. We believe this has something to do with certain web pages being embedded but we are still not sure. This is affecting about 2% of the deployed displays. This is being pursued now.

  • More refactoring, automated testing and defect corrections for our apps.

  • Continuing to work out the user experience changes to bring the results of our first design sprint to life.

  • All teams are working through their goal reviews of the previous quarter and setting priorities for the next quarter. Look for a blog post on how we do this collectively and remotely with maximum input and involvement from everyone.

  • More progress on open defects! Down from 7 to 4 open defects across all of our 60 active projects on GitHub.

  • We’re almost finished with the new Google Spreadsheet Widget. Just need to finish migrating from Sheets API v3 to the recently released Sheets API v4, then a decision on whether or not we’ll be able to support infinitely scrolling data. And on that note...

  • We’ve started on the prototype to infinitely scroll data from a Google Spreadsheet. Looking good so far and if everything works out we’ll release it as a feature with the new Google Spreadsheet Widget currently available as an early preview.

  • Design for a new Rise Cache is now published for review. Let us know your feedback!

  • We continued working on a new website design, we now have finished the homepage design and are starting on some landing pages.

  • You can keep up with our Creative Teams work on our Dribbble page here.
