On Monday, September 12th, we released an update to the Image Widget. Afterwards, Users running non-supported environments, such as Chrome OS, reported Placeholders configured to show the Image Widget appeared all white instead of showing the respective image. As a precaution, we reverted the change so we could investigate the issue.

Based on our findings, we have concluded this issue was a result of Browser Cache not purging and updating to the updated Widget. Unfortunately, the Browser Cache is outside of our control but there are steps you can take to resolve the issue should it occur.

Given this, we will re-deploy the updated Image Widget on Monday, September 19th. If afterwards you experience a similar issue with images not appearing, please first reboot your media player to clear Browser Cache. If you continue to have issues, you’ll need to manually clear Browser Cache by following the steps below.

How to manually clear Browser Cache
  1. Enter the key combination control + shift + . (period) Note key combination may be different if you are not using Rise Player

  2. Select the Network tab

  3. Right click and from the Context Menu select Clear Browser Cache as shown below.
