We can't get the images to display on the Media Player.   We have tried images from theRisevision storage and hot linking to a 3rd party storage site.   The presentation displays correctly in the preview and on other boxes, just not on our new display.  it is running   Windows 8.1 with the Chrome player

Hi Rob,

I noticed that none of your presentations are published.  Can you try publishing your presentations and let me know if you still have the issue?

I must have made a change before I sent the link. It's published and still no images.

One other note, all of the other displays correctly just not the images.

Rob,

Can you try removing the image items from your playlist and replacing them with either the image widget or the image folder widget and see if the issue persists?

Rob,

If these images are hosted in Rise Vision Storage, have you tried the Image Folder Widget? Can you try that and see if the images appear for you?

An update on the issue.   I had a new Asus Chromebox that I was working on and replaced this morning with the same issue.  No images but all other content is displaying fine.

Then I disconnected it from the wired network and connected to the guest wireless network and the images popped up and work fine.   So I think it may be a firewall issue on the Network that is blocking the hotlinking of images and an talking to IT dept to see what I can find out.  Does this make sense?

In response to the comments,  I tried images both in Rise Vision storage and on  3rd party site and couldn't get either to display.  I also tried the image widget with no luck.  We haven't tried the Image Folder Widget yet.

Another update:  Just heard back from IT and they don't think it is a Firewall issue.   This building is set up the same as all of there other buildings and we do have other Media players running that don't have any issues with the images.

I'm out of ideas, any thoughts?

Rob,

Could you try opening a the URL to the image in a Chrome browser (after exiting the Rise Player by hitting Ctrl+W)? And see if that URL loads on the wired network that you suspect might be blocking the images?

Another update, I tested the Media Player on the Wired network with the following:

- Images on RiseVision Storage
-Images on Image Widget from RiseVision Storage
-Images on Image Folder Widget from RiseVision Storage
-Images from 3rd party storage site - Smartfile

All the images from RiseVision Storage were displaying properly and the images from the 3rd party site did not display at all so we redid the presentation with all the images being stored at RiseVision.   This ran great for about a week and as of this morning we lost all of the images from RiseVision again.

*One note:  We do have other Media Players playing similar presentations in
other departments in the hospital and they all work fine.  The biggest difference is the other Media Players are Win 7 boxes running the traditional RiseVision player.  The 2 boxes we have tried in this site with this presentation are Win 8.1 box running the Chrome player and a Chromebox running the Chrome Player.

-Justin, the images did display correctly from a browser last week and I will try that again when I get down there.

Thanks,

Rob

Hi Rob, it's good you got the images working when using Rise Storage, but when they stopped working this morning, what did you see in their place, and were there other elements of the presentation showing?

Did a reboot bring the images back or is that something you have yet to do (you said you are going down there)?

Actually Rob, the link you have to your display which is in the first comment of your post - http://rva.risevision.com/#/DISPLAY_MANAGE/id=6USXT2T9KJR5?cid=70af03d1-e903-4286-93f5-c34d02b43046 - if that is the same display the images are not showing up on, it appears it is offline (since last night).

Rob,

I realize this is an issue that hasn't had any discussion for 6 months, but reviewing conversations in the community, this one appears to be left hanging.  Are you still experiencing issues with the images?  If not, would you mind sharing the resolution with us?
