I have a problem with the new image widget.
We store our files locally in the network. And he urls to the images are like: http://10.1.1.2/image.jpg This works fine in the risevision presentation editor. But in the new one it doesn't. First of all it say's it is not a valid url and if you remove validation and the preview the presentation all works fine. But on the players it does not. (same goes for validated urls)

Am I doing something wrong or over looking something?

Thanks!

Hugo, I am surprised it worked for you the first time. Basically, RV player was designed to work off the "cloud" content and the access to whatever you are storing locally could be obstructed by your network setup. Technically, you still can with the proper configuration, but I would strongly recommend getting some FTP hosting or RV storage; it is inexpensive and easily accessible. So, yeah, I am gonna say it... you are doing it wrong by storing content locally )))

But you can also try something like that: http://lifehacker.com/130806/how-to-set-up-a-home-ftp-server

Hugo,

I bet the issue here is your machine is logged into the domain or resource to access the image on that server, and it is likely that the Display running the Presentation is not.

Just to test that theory, you may want to try logging into the Display with the same credentials as the machine you are editing the Presentation on, and see if they come up when the Rise Player is run using that account.

That's not a good fix though, as you don't want to have to log in as a specific account to play the Presentation. As Darius suggests above, I would strongly recommend the Rise Storage option.

Thanks!
