Image Widget Issues

I am having nothing but problems with the Image Widget on multiple Raspberry Pi's.

Images sometimes don't show up, and sometimes after publishing, NONE show up at all.

All the images were scanned at the same time, they were cropped the same, resized the same and saved out the same using Photoshop actions. After a bunch of testing I thought I had it figured out with how the JPGs were encoded, but after trying this with a presentation that has 70 images, that wasn't the case (I reexported all the images).

They ALL worked fine with the Image Gadget, and now I can't get them to work consistently at all with the Image Widget.

I have a presentation with two side by side placeholders. Built for nothing but displaying images.

I added 4 images to a placeholder and NONE are showing up. In another placeholder, 3 of 5 images are showing up. This is with the Widget.

If I use the Gadget on the Left and the Widget on the right. Then ALL the images, both Gadget and Widget display fine.

Remove all Gadgets and publish again, the player locks up needs to be force quit (Or it pops up an error saying Chromium is unresponsive).

Reboot the system and only 3 of 5 images in widgets are showing up again. I've done this 3 times now with the same results each time.

What is going on with this Image Widget!!!

I'm REALLY starting to get very frustrated with all the changes you guys are making that break what was working fine.

Glen,

I'll do some testing locally on the Pi and let you know what I come up with.

I've run into the issue on two Pi units here and one at home. There doesn't seem to be a rhyme or reason to when or why they don't show up.

When I put the image Gadget in, then ALL the images show in the Widget side, including the ones that didn't show up before.

Feel free to use the  Badminton Photos ms04  presentation in our account. I've been testing this mostly in the past two days.

Glen,

Thanks so much for the information. I have your presentation running to see if I can replicate this issue. I will need to monitor it and do a little digging to see what's going on.

Good morning Glen!

I've been monitoring the image widget in your presentation Badminton Photos ms04. I haven't seen any skipped photos or blank placeholders yet, but I wanted to check in and let you know my progress.

Curious, is this a Raspberry Pi or Raspberry Pi 2? What OS/distribution are you running?

This is Raspberry Pi B+ hardware running Wheezy

I have had the issue with the Pi here (dedicated to running the photos and nothing more). I have also had the issue, using different images, on another testing Pi.

I am setting up another test Pi to run the same presentation and see if there is any difference. I will keep you posted.

Thanks Glen,

I appreciate you working with me on this.
