Image Folder Widget playing files out of order

Hi! (Disclaimer: I am very much a beginner with Rise Vision). I am working on a presentation and have added four Image Folder Widgets to one placeholder. I want to have each folder play all the way through before moving on to the next folder. Ideally the first folder would play all the way through, then the next, eventually cycling back to the first folder and playing indefinitely.

I have the first three folders set to "play until done," and the last folder set to 10 seconds, as there's only one file in that folder. When I play the presentation, the first 2-3 images from each folder play before it moves on to the next. Certain images will play multiple times before other images play even once.

I'm also having an issue where the second file in my second folder gets "stuck" for more than ten seconds after about 2-3 cycles. Any guidance on how to better control the order in which the files play would be greatly appreciated!

Hi Allyson,

Thanks for notifying us!  It looks like a recent bug that I have logged recently and it concerns the image ordering for the Image Folder Widget.  Do you have a link to the Presentation itself and I can also check.

Thanks,
Hannah

Hey Hannah,

I an not quite sure if that is a bug. I had similar situation when tried playing videos from the same folder. Some played twice before other videos decided to show, and one of RV guys explained that widget is repeating some videos before others get pre-loaded in the background. Anyways,  solved the problem by simply assigning each video as separate item in the placeholder. This way you can set time for each individually. Takes more time, but seems to be sure method.

Hi Darius,
Thanks for pitching in!
Yes, that is also part of the Image Folder widget setup in that the Image Folder Widget will start playing as soon as at least one (maybe two) images are downloaded and ready. This is done to reduce the time it takes to show content as opposed to waiting for all images to download before a user sees anything in their presentation. So those two images are loaded, then picks up all the other images from the folder. When the duration for the presentation expires, the slide show is paused and the next presentation is shown. When it comes back to playing the presentation with the image folder, it picks up where it was last.
Allyson let me know if you any other questions about the Image Folder widget
