Hi Dave,
The list of network requirements is at https://help.risevision.com/user/crea... under What if I have a Firewall / Proxy?

Are you currently under a proxy in your network or are there any additional network filtering that could have caused this?

Thanks

They are not. We're working for 38 months and then reported back that they could not connect to server this AM. Has there been any change to the end-point?

Dave,

Another user brought up a similar issue to me on an IAdea box earlier today. We don't test any content on the IAdea boxes and we do not support them, but we can take a quick cursory look to see if we can determine what the issue may be.

Can I ask you to email support@risevision.com with a link to your Presentation so we can see if there is an obvious issue?

Thanks!

This is the URL we have been connecting to since a time when iadea was a partner of risevision (3 or 4 years ago.)

This url suddenly stopped working 2 days ago.

Hi Dave
Thanks for sharing the link through. Could it be that the Display ID is not valid in the URL? I added my own Display at the end and was able to get it to work.

Thanks!

The display ID is fabricated but thanks for checking. So can I surmize that the URL has not changed and should be functional?

I just confirmed that we are getting the same error on all no matter what network they are on. Will continue to check but it looks like we can not reach the end point.

Dave,

Thanks for that link, I forgot that is what the IAdea Players use to access the platform.

I just tested this in my browser with a working Display ID, and it works no problem for me. Can I ask you to test that URL with a working Display ID on a different machine in your network to see if it works as expected?

I am testing from a phone in southern California. Way outside the network. This is what we get no matter what ID we test with

Dave,

Would it be a problem if I tried to go to that URL to test it? I don't want to inadvertently take your Display down :)

Dave,

Just tested this, and I can see content playing. Here is a screenshot, I didn't want to share the entire Presentation :):

I'm not sure why it is not working for you over there. Is that the expected Presentation to see?

Hello Rob! I have tried Multiple ID's with the exact URL format with multiple mediums including my phone and a Mac PC. VIa Google Browser. I am still receiving the Error shown above. This is also from different networks .

Sean,

It took a second paid of eyes to look at this, but the problem is the case in the word "viewer". The V needs to be uppercase, and in your examples, it is lower case.

So if you change your URL to http://rvashow.appspot.com/Viewer.html?type=display&id=AHSJJJD23648, that should do the trick.

Thanks!

We have tested multiple devices. All of them already had the proper URL with capitalization and were unchanged from the running install that has worked until Tuesday.

We have made no further changes and are still down.

Rob we also tested alternate URL's and the device picked up content right away from sources other than risevision.

Gentlemen,

Thanks for confirming that did not correct the issue for you. I will investigate further to determine what the issue could be and report back my findings here.

Thanks!

Gentlemen,

I'm at a bit of a loss here. I was able to get my IAdea XMP2300 showing content no problem this morning. Here is a picture of my Player URL settings page (pardon the picture, there is no screencapture on this device :)):

If I update the Schedule or the Presentation, everything works exactly as expected.

Also, I wanted to mention that the "V" in viewer was already a capital when I went into the settings of the device. When I set it to be a lower case V, the machine just goes into a state of constant rebooting, which is not something that anyone has reported.

I confirmed with our Apps team that there have been no updates to the Viewer, which is where that URL comes from, since May 5th.

I have reached out to IAdea, and have asked them to reply to this post to see if they can give any insight.

Thanks!

Gentlemen,

I got some info back from IAdea that they were able to recreate this on some hardware other than what I have to test on. Apparently it occurs on the Linux OS boxes with the QT Browser, but not the Android boxes.

I haven't been able to confirm the version of Linux on the machine, but if it is running Ubuntu, my suggestion would be to switch to the Rise Vision Linux Player which runs on Linux Ubuntu that you can get from here: https://help.risevision.com/user/create-a-display

Dave or Sean, can you confirm the Linux versions on your devices?

Thanks!

Gentlemen,

I was informed by the IAdea team that this is a custom built Linux version, and cannot have regular Linux programs installed on it.

Right. Fully embedded linux. All software is handled through firmware deployments

Thanks Dave,

I've shared some ideas with them that may assist in this issue, so hopefully they respond soon.

Thanks!

Probably not going to happen. Posted an $89.00 1 hr fix for this problem which allows the customer to keep most of the installation in tact for a few more years.

Delete it , edit it or move it around as you see fit.
