Hi guys,

So I created 4 presentations for a menu that will play on 4 different screens.  All my presentations are ready, my display settings, my schedules, all ready.  I just received the 4 chrome boxes media players that I ordered in the mail.  What's next?  Do I need to set them up software wise before installation? I have a guy who's setting up cat cables and power for the chrome boxes and monitors, I'm just kind of unclear on what my next step is.  Thanks in advance.

You can download the Chrome App Player from the link listed here, but please be advised:

We have put further development of the Rise Vision Chrome Application Player on hold due to issues we have had with providing a reliable service with Chrome Applications. We are continuing to make the Chrome App Player available to those that prefer to use it with Chrome OS, but please be advised that this is not our recommended solution as of this writing. We are continuing to monitor the Chrome Application platform and should the circumstances change we will reconsider restarting the project.

We sincerely apologize for any inconveniences that this has caused.

I've had success with dual booting Chromeboxes with Chrubuntu, and Ubuntu 14.04 64bit. But the Chromebox will default to the Developer mode (Chrome OS) on restarts. I haven't looking into switching this, as our Chromebox is a test machine/backup player and does not need reboot capabilities, but that's not to say it is not possible.

I've heard of other members have a lot of success with Chromeboxes but it seemed that they really preferred having the Chrome Device Management, which is an additional cost.

Let me know if you have any questions, and I'd be more than willing to help you with a Chrubuntu install and moving through the script options if you'd like, just let me know the machine specs (Chromebox model to check compatibility with the script, and SSD/HDD size for the partitions).

We went with chrome bits versus Chrome boxes had huge successes with those. I guess it depends on how heavy the presentations are but we've had no issues with chrome bits

Hi Steven:

Good work getting Chromebits working with Rise.

I'd like to hear more details on what you're doing on the Chromebits and how you handle the fact that it won't auto-login after a full reboot!

What extensions are you using?
