I would like to put my Google sites into a presentation on rise vision from our school but our Google domain is secured which means my Google sites are https. The "s" seems to be causing a problem in which the Google site page can't be displayed. Any solutions out there?

Jason,

The issue isn't necessarily with the Google site being https, but rather that it may not be able to be embedded. If the site has x-frame options set to 'deny' then it will not be able to be embedded inside of a presentation. You could confirm this by viewing info from the Console.

Are you using our Chrome App Player for your display? If not, you could also give that a try.

I have the same issue.  I thought it would be nice to embed the presentation into our information page on our school website.  That way parents could see the same content in a web 2.0 format that doesn't require them clicking another link.

However, when trying to use an iframe in Google Sites, https is required.

Is there any way to enable https for presentations?  Or perhaps Rise could create a Google Gadget to embed presentations into Google content.

This doesn't just affect Google Sites, but other portions of Google Apps such as Slides, Docs, etc...

Has anybody found another way to embed presentations on Google Sites?

Chris,

The rule set to not be able to embed isn't something that we could override. As Justin states above, if the site has x-frame options set to 'deny' then it will not be able to be embedded inside of a presentation.

I think the only option here is to see if the content could be made available at a location that does not deny the x-frame from being embedded.

Thanks!

That allows your Google Site to be embedded in other websites.  It does not allow you to embed non https content in your Google Site.  The problem is that Google Sites does not allow embedding of non secure content.  Rise needs to make their content secure so it can be embedded with https as well as http.

I understood Justin's question to be issues having his Google site not display in the Rise Vision so I may have commented on the wrong entry.   I was having that problem at my school.  I'd built a Google Site which was going to display in a Web widget on Rise.  It worked fine, then Google required https  and it broke and wouldn't display in Rise.  Just found that switch the other day and now it will work in Rise.   I see now you were wanting it to work the other direction - the Rise presentation playing within your Google Sites Page.
