Hi All,
I am having some issues with a set of HP Chromeboxes running RiseVision with Chrome device management. Each chromebox is set to a presentation that runs 8 (30 second) video spots . The devices are all on wireless but have a strongconnection and are plugged into a UPS. The devices seem to work fine for a day or so but will randomly drop wireless connection (stuck on searching for signal, or network unavailable). The only way to get back up and running is usually a hard boot. I have disabled updates and auto-reboot. I also have a fleet of 20 or so chromebits that seem to run without any connection issues. Just curious if anyone has had this issue with the Chromeboxes ( I know they are not technically supported) but wondered if they may be overheating due to video load on the processor? anything helps!

Are they all in same location? I have 3 Asus Chromeboxes on WiFi and they do not act in such way. Yet only one of them gets 2 hours video stream daily + a number of other widgets running at the same time. But it does not do this. Occasionally it would drop the connection too (I mean once in months), but I know that it is local WiFi problem and not the device. It is also strong WiFi, but it can be pretty spotty when too many devices try to suck the resources. Maybe this is what could be causing your devices to fail because they need to be receiving data all the time with all those videos.

Never trust that WiFi for something that cannot fail... this is how I look at it.
